Ingredients
switch to imperial- 4 oranges
- 1 egg
- 50g sugar
Method
Preheat the oven to 200ÂșC or gas mark 6.
Cut the oranges in half and using a knife and without cutting into the white pith, carefully cut round the inside of the oranges. Then roughly separate the segments.
To make the meringue, first separate the egg white from the yolk and whisk the egg white until light and fluffy. While still whisking, gradually add the sugar.
Top each orange half with meringue mixture and create peaks using a fork.
Put the oranges on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 10 minutes until the meringue goes crispy.
You can serve them hot or cold. If you want to serve them hot, get an adult to help you.
