Ingredients

  • 100g polyunsaturated margarine
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • 150g porridge oats
  • 2 bananas
  • 100g ready-to-eat dried apricots, roughly chopped
  • 25g pumpkin seeds
  • 25g sunflower seeds
  • 25g sesame seeds

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/ gas mark 4. Lightly grease a 19cm square baking tin and cover the bottom with greaseproof paper.

  2. Melt the margarine and syrup in a heavy-based saucepan until they have both dissolved. Take off the heat and add the rest of the ingredients to the pan and mix well.

  3. Spoon the mixture into the baking tin, level the surface with a spoon. Bake in the middle of the oven for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown. The mixture should still be soft in the middle.

  4. Leave to cool in the tin for 10 mins, then cut into 9 squares. Then pop them in an airtight container, to keep them fresh.
